DSR Enews: Summer 2018
Summer has come, bringing blistering temperatures with it and here we are reminiscing, wishing we could go back to the below freezing steelhead weather with piles of snow!  The water may be warm but there's still plenty of fish to be caught and good times to be had here on the Douglaston Salmon Run this summer.  The smallmouth bass haven't let anyone down so far this season, and the Atlantic Salmon are still hiding somewhere, you just need to come find them!  The 2018 salmon season is just around the corner and we are chomping at the bit to see our first Kings & Cohos of the year.  Let the countdown begin!

As we continue to prepare for the upcoming 2018 salmon season, we have some exciting events on the agenda!  This summer we are offering Lodging & Fishing packages with our friends at Cold Steel Sportfishing, as well as hosting Trophy Angler Guide Service for the 5th Annual Summer Salmon Seminar August 24th trough the 26th! (See below for further details.) We are pleased to announce that we are currently on track to begin our Stream Restoration Project on the lower end of the run!  Many of you are aware, this project has been on the agenda for some time now as we contended with high water conditions last year, this year crossing our fingers and conditions permitting we will be completing the restoration this coming August.  We are equally excited and eager to get this project underway, as our goal is to improve aquatic habitat, especially during low water conditions.  These efforts should result in improved and increased fishing opportunities in the lower end of the run.

**Notice - 2018 Salmon Camp will be held in "The Chute" between September 24 - October 14**

2019 Lodging Calendar Shift
In order to better accommodate our guests, 2019 reservations will incur a calendar shift, this shift will adjust our guest's reservations. All lodging dates will be shifted one week forward for 2019; this is due to the calendar cycle.  With each passing year, the dates shift over one day of the week, during leap year they shift two days.  Therefore everyone's lodging dates are to be moved one week forward in an effort to keep our reservations around the same time of year.
